Edwards Lifesciences Sr Mgr, Finance in Singapore
Essential Job Functions
Financial Planning & Analysis – Own Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan, and monthly Forecasting for JAPAC Global Planning Supply & Logistics (GPS&L). Monitor and influence all financial deliverables to the business within established schedule, scope and quality objectives. Manage all JAPAC GPS&L cost centers. Identify risk, develop mitigation strategies, alternative solutions, critical path, resolve issues, and action item follow up.
Month-End Close and Reporting – Oversee activity in each country in JAPAC, including but not limited to: reviewing cost center finances, approval of journal entries, reviewing financial measures, providing guidance and advice on more complex issues regarding financial performance, and developing GPS&L specific reports (Freight & Duty, Distribution, Warehousing, E&O)
Strategy/KOD Execution – Partner with Supply Chain functional leaders to define and drive KOD and strategy execution for the team (strategic plan development)
Finance Leadership – Actively participate in GPS&L Leadership meetings and be seen as the SME and single point of contact for all Finance related matters
Compliance – Ensure Edwards compliance by applying knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., SOX, GAAP financials, SEC, IRS) to develop detailed explanations for internal and external auditors
Special Projects – Varying duties by business unit and country within region, for example network change, optimization of activity across region, negotiation with local supply chain carriers, etc…
Relationship Management – Build strong relationship with the Supply Chain Leaders as well as Regional and Singapore Plant Finance teams to ensure collaboration and partnership to aid in meeting all deliverables.
Required Education, Skills and Experience
Bachelors Degree with minimum 10 years of experience
Masters Degree with minimum 8 years of experience
Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting experience
Global Supply Chain Finance and Multi-national experience preferred
Strong leadership skills with ability to influence decisions through active participation in initiatives
Proven successful financial management skills and recognized as expert in own area
Expert in MS Office, including advanced Excel and related financial systems
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiating and relationship management skills
Ability to transfer essential knowledge and mentor other team members on specialized skills
Extensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
Expert in related aspects of financial processes and/or systems
Good business acumen in both internal and external workings of the business
Strict attention to detail
Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to represent Finance on projects within a specific area interfacing with supply chain, corporate and global finance team
Ability to provide financial leadership to outsourcing partners on a task level
Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
