Edwards Lifesciences Mgr, Human Resources in Singapore
Responsible for providing support and leadership to the business in the area of employee relations, where the individual will be a strategic partner in ensuring governance and compliance with policies that are put in place to guide the business. The role incumbent will be a trusted partner and advisor and shall serve as the expert on employee relations and related issues, as well as a coach cum catalyst in proposing and delivering HR expertise and solutions to meet business needs. This role will also require the incumbent to be comfortable in handling strategic issues and yet able to handle tactical work at times, navigate and think through on challenges/issues faced while evaluating the long term and short term impact on organization. Driving and being involved in organizational changes and continuous improvements in the organization and HR while bringing the respective departments to the next level of expected performance and compliance level will also be a key part of this role.
This role is based in Singapore plant and the role incumbent is expected to work closely with internal counterparts for successful planning and delivery of HR programs, solutions and services to the organization.
Provide general counsel, consultation and leadership in the area of employee relations. This includes questioning the status quo, guiding and coaching the HRBPs and client group(s) through the specific case management against legislations, policies, etc, and helping to drive the organization to the next level of performance which will include recommending, influencing and driving both the strategic and functional changes.
Provide leadership and serve as the governance for complex employee relations cases and grievances that are brought to the level of Board of Inquiry which include investigations pertaining to discrimination, harassment, and workplace conduct, recommending and endorsing on the appropriate interventions as aligned with the respective parties.
Develop policies and ensure adherence to the latest legislation(s) and any other internal policy changes through governance and partnership with both HRBPs and the business groups.
Manage and provide resolutions for complex employee relations cases which include conducting exit interviews and driving conflict resolution discussions/processes, ensuring effective, thorough and objective investigations with a closure to the specific case in question.
Responsible for the driving of employee engagement and open communications in the business which will include conducting the pulse sessions and understanding the current employee climate as well as driving the necessary agreed employee engagement solutions.
Responsible for the leadership and governance of employee accommodation cases through the regular medical review boards.
Responsible for both internal and external stakeholder management which includes managing of sensitive employee cases with union, Ministry of Manpower, etc, and serving as a company representative whenever required and as appropriate.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in in related field, 10 years years experience of previous related human resources experience required or
Master's Degree or equivalent in in related field, 8 years years experience of previous related human resources experience required
Strong working knowledge of Singaporean labour law
Possesses a proven ability to be hands-on and able to handle tactical issues while still maintaining a strategic mindset
Requires strong, demonstrated communication skills and the ability to perform in an environment of ambiguity and change
Possesses proficient ability to diagnose problems and identify appropriate interventions; Organizational consulting skills, influencing skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work in a fast paced environment are essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential with the ability to interface at all levels of the organization and build internal and external relationships.
Must possess effective analytical skills and conflict resolution skills
Strong time management skills and PC proficiency required. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required. WorkDay proficiency preferred.
Those with lean manufacturing, project management and/or 6 sigma experience/knowledge will have added advantage.
Previous experience within an MNC manufacturing environment, operating in a matrix structure preferred.
