Main Challenges Be a trusted partner through responsive and professional representation, providing legal and business expertise and advice with accuracy and integrity. The position will be based in Germany and primarily support German speaking jurisdictions while providing additional support to other countries within the EMEA and Canada region. Engage in a variety of tasks ranging from routine queries to matters calling for more sophisticated judgment and independent initiative. Balance working independence with little supervision with proactive cooperation and communication with the other member of the legal Responsibilities
Draft, advise on and assist with the negotiation, conclusion, and maintenance of contracts relating to the sale of products and services, including distribution agreements, agency agreements, service agreements, clinical trial agreements, confidentiality agreements, sponsorship agreements, consignment agreements and other specifically related to the medical device industry such a variety of agreement covering interaction with Health Care Professionals Prepare and deliver legal opinions on various transactional matters
Create contract templates based on current and future company needs and priorities
Assist with different matters including but not limited to, employment/labour law questions, procurement, reimbursement and market access, clinical studies, medical devices law.
Support corporate and regional projects, as well as compliance efforts.
Work with approved external counsel as required to obtain advice on specific issues
Coordinate and manage various type of disputes and litigations, by elaborating the most appropriate legal strategy.
Represent the company at meetings with local trade associations and local authorities as required
Attend internal business meetings and provide legal input and representation as needed Prepare various database, reports and memoranda, prepare and make presentations
Keep up to date with legislation which may affect the company’s operations
Review advertisements, publications and marketing material, for legal implications
Knowledge and qualifications
Law degree from a European jurisdiction and licensed to practice law in Germany
3-5 years’ experience in similar role in-house or in a mayor lawfirm
Fluent in English and German, additional European languages are a plus.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft windows environment (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
