The Cardiovascular Sales Specialist is responsible for the achievement of the sales objectives of a specified territory and product portfolio under the direction of the Region Director. Promote the company’s products and services to physicians, staff, etc. and educate customers on the safe and effective use of these devices.
This territory includes the Pittsburgh area including Altoona and State College.
Major Job Functions:
Identify sales opportunities based on patient and surgeon needs and tailor product recommendations to facilitate excellent patient and procedural outcomes and attain/exceed quota.
Develop new business opportunities and increase adoption and utilization with established customers.
Successfully launch new products.
Provide expert and comprehensive guidance on the use of devices and/or products to enable physicians and staff to reach expert proficiency and achieve excellent patient outcomes.
Sell company’s medical devices products by interacting with established customers, i.e. physicians, other health care providers, hospital administration, and materials management, with cardiac surgeons as the primary focus and develop prospects.
Establish and strengthen customer relationships including those with key opinion leaders.
Ensure that clinicians are provided with adequate technical, product and in-service support and that staff are trained properly on the safe and effective use of products.
Prepare complex analyses for accurate targeting and planning by account, product and therapy.
Complete administrative requirements in a timely manner including but not limited to inventory management activities, expense reports, internal training and education assignments.
Develop sales forecasts and execute strategic plans for territory.
Educate customers in proper preparation and use of company’s products.
Educate physicians on medical literature, concepts and procedures related to company’s products.
Maintain thorough territory knowledge including competitive activity and customer utilization practices.
Prepare and negotiate price offers/contracts in collaboration with senior management.
Communicate sales activities and any relevant information to Region Director routinely.
Bachelor’s degree required
5 years Medical Device Clinical Sales Experience (preferably implantable Cardiovascular Surgical Device Sales of more than 3 years)
Proven success launching and selling new technology
Operating room sales experience
Proven track record of successful territory and account management
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Excellent interpersonal skills
High level of time management
Negotiation and selling skills
Excellent presentation skills
Established relationships with target customers
Effective use of promotional materials
