Edwards Lifesciences Clinical Specialist, Greater Toronto Area - Transcatheter Heart Valve in Ontario, Canada

The incumbent of this role shall be responsible for ensuring a successful adoption of the full transcatheter heart valve product platform. They be an expert on targeting products, customer service issues and surgical or clinical procedures, as well as work with key decision makers to introduce products into existing hospital accounts. ​ The territory is the Greater Toronto area and can entail up to 50% travel.

  • Provide clinical support for the Edwards Transcatheter Heart Valve division in designated territory.

  • In-service medical devices to target audience to ensure successful adoption of the full product platform.

  • Facilitate the introduction of new products into existing hospital accounts by working closely with key decision makers including cardiologists, surgeons, managers, cardiovascular nurse coordinators and materials management.

  • Develops and maintains an expert knowledge of anatomy, physiology, procedural aspects of TAVI, as well the Edwards technologies promoted.

  • Travels regionally and nationally to clinically support existing and/or prospective customers in order to demonstrate the applications of Edwards THV products through education, in-service, and clinical case support.

  • Possess ability to quickly develop positive professional relationships with decision makers

  • Competitive intelligence gathering.

  • Work in concert with Professional Education and Edwards Marketing to conduct physician and nurse training programs associated with targeted products.

  • Regularly review and update clinical support activities, changes in the market and assigned accounts.

  • Develops supplemental action plans with Business Unit Manager and the appropriate TM for each account supported.

  • Assists in the development of sales campaigns to accommodate company goals by adding the clinical experience and support element.

  • Represents Edwards Lifesciences in a professional manner within the assigned accounts, attends assigned trade shows, meetings, educational meetings/forums and conventions to promote and support the Edwards Transcatheter product line - regionally and nationally.

  • Participates in sales meetings and training programs provided by Edwards Lifesciences.

  • Helps Edwards Lifesciences develop educational tools, validates software and hardware updates in the field.

  • Participates in the training of new field-based employees.

  • Completes and delivers administrative reports to the Business Unit Manager and Marketing within the specified time frame.

  • Adheres to all quality and regulatory guidelines as per Edwards Lifesciences policies.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% across Canada (focus on Eastern provinces)

Required Education/ Skills/ Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Business or Life Sciences required (or equivalent TAVI/Structural Heart experience required)

  • 3 – 5 years sales and/or clinical and/or in-servicing experience required, cardiac preferred.

  • Track record of clinical expertise with a proven ability to effectively communicate complex terminology and medical principles within the cardiovascular suite

  • Ability to understand Cardiac products including their advantages versus competing products and competitors’ positioning strategies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
