Edwards Lifesciences Senior Manager, Strategy in Nyon, Switzerland

Role Purpose: Responsible for leading the implementation of business strategies and initiatives for CCVAS Europe. Additionally tasked to explore, create and foster profitable strategic alliances.The position is based in the European Headquarter in Switzerland. It requires at least 50% of travel (Global HQ and EU countries). Job Functions:

  • Maintain surveillance over market and identify business opportunities. Develop and monitor profitability, productivity and growth targets. Recommend financial and non-financial strategic objectives and alternatives. Implement and maintain strategic and operational plans.

  • Identify, develop, and lead the implementation of short- and longer-term business strategies relating to the development of market. Perform market analyses on new or improved product opportunities. Develop business models and determine market trends to substantiate long-term prospects. Collaborate with internal departments in identifying and implementing business development projects.

  • Explore strategic alliances across BUs and externally with non-competitive industry partners. Perform risk-benefit analyses and prepare recommendations.

  • Conduct market research and feasibility studies to analyze the viability of alternative business development opportunities. Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial, competitive, sales, marketing and other information about potential business partners; new markets, products and services; and/or other business opportunities so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operational decisions.

  • Take responsibility to manage KOD definitions, Strat Plan and AOP, including country updates, macro market overview, market data alignment, general challenges and issues, new approaches, etc. and subsequently work to formulate high level strategies and strategic action plans.

Required Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field with 12 years of previous related experience, or Master's Degree or equivalent in related field with 10 years of previous related experience

  • Demonstrated performance track record over multiple business cycles within relevant industry/function

  • Excellent Business Development and Strategy experiences and hands-on sales and marketing experiences with multinational healthcare or medical devices companies preferred.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience in market research projects, consolidating internal needs and expectations to compose RFPs, assess external market research companies, incorporate findings from market research into concrete execution plans.

  • Conduct business and technical briefings for senior and top management and for external representatives.

  • Expert understanding and interpretation of complicated market dynamics, identify and quantify market potential, build business case with both business and financial analysis skills.

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

  • Good team player, self-motivated, results oriented, problem solver with strong accountability and leadership skills.

  • Proven successful project management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including influencing and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Able to work in a matrix environment

  • Excellent English language skills, additional European languages appreciated

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Expert understanding of related aspects of market share, pricing, ASPs, competitive dynamics

  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of marketing to the business and senior leadership

  • Develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.

  • Provide leadership and direction to large cross-functional teams to successfully implement systems, processes and related solutions.

  • Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
