Edwards Lifesciences Market Accesss / Health Economics Manager in Nyon, Switzerland

Role purpose

Use experience with HTA systems in European region to provide the SURGICAL Public Affairs EMEACLA team with high-quality health economic and outcomes research analyses and associated activities in evidence generation to support and implement market access strategies; synthesize and adapt other data as required to build the value propositions of Edwards’s products; support the generation and processing of new data to answer specific questions generated by the Business Units teams. Manage projects for multiple products as part of the SURGICAL Public Affairs Team

Job Functions

Under the supervision of the SURGICAL BU PA Business Partner:

  • Develop, implement and execute data generation projects related to economic value (including cost-effectiveness modelling, budget impact model, and economic value from an hospital perspective) of Edwards SURGICAL products in the EMEACLA region in order to demonstrate and level up our product portfolio’s benefits to patients and society.

  • Assess and track the reimbursement landscape for countries in the European region, especially HTA needs in EU5 markets. Work with SURGICAL BU Partner and national Public Affairs colleagues to develop data and analysis to meet needs and seize opportunities. Work with the SURGICAL Business Partner on Market Access Projects including: creating new therapeutic/device charge codes, obtaining pricing approval, and obtaining reimbursement approval to enable and improve access of innovative therapeutic solutions for structural heart disease

  • Collaborate with the global teams in GHEOR to secure that the EMEACLA region needs and perspectives are timely factor in the global HEOR strategies

  • Work with PA teams at national level to align data generation at local level to secure effectiveness of messages and coherence of HEOR value propositions

  • Support SURGICAL BU in the economics value of outcome-based agreements and the execution of the Value Framework for contracting and tendering

Essential Job Functions

  • Builds, maintains and adapts health economic models and associated analyses for delivering economic value messages, create market access value messaging, and support dossier submissions in key markets as directed by SURGICAL Business Partner

  • Gathers, collects, records, tracks and verifies data and information from multiple sources according to the market access strategy

  • Maintains literature searches and internal resources of relevant data sources for the market access team

  • As directed by the SURGICAL BU Business Partner, work with the market access team at regional and country levels to develop and prepare abstracts, posters, presentations and manuscripts as required to support the communication of evidence

  • Be available to support ad hoc analysis and requests from members of the SURGICAL market access team, including management of contracts and purchase orders


Master's degree in health economics or a related scientific discipline with 8 years of experience

or Doctorate with 6 years of experience

Required Skills

  • Strong competence and understanding in economic modelling, Budget impact, burden of diseases, value-based health care and outcome-based agreements.

  • Strong competence in understanding external environment related to governments, payers and HTA agencies requirements when related to the assessment of diseases and therapies

  • in-depth understanding of HTA and reimbursement processes in EU5 countries; knowledge of additional countries are an advantage.

  • Good problem-solving, critical thinking and analytic skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with a high standard of written and spoken English (other languages are an advantage)

  • Good organizational skills and ability to work in a team without close supervision

  • Availability to travel as required

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and able to work to deadlines

  • Interested in Medical Technologies and the evolution of market access, evidence generation, etc.,
