Edwards Lifesciences Director of Professional Education and Medical Affairs in Nyon, Switzerland
Responsible for leading the design and execution of assigned medical affairs, procedural development and professional education activities for TMTT in Europe.
Key Responsibilities :
Direct medical affairs activities (e.g., scientific communications, professional education, IIS, grants allocation)
Plan and direct strategic activities including prioritizing and selecting appropriate projects with overall responsibility for meeting business objectives. Lead in identifying risk, developing complex mitigation strategies, best practices, alternative solutions, resolving issues, etc. in collaboration with cross functional and/or matrix teams
Analyze, formulate and present recommendations to advise and guide executive level leadership; develop and deliver executive level communication
Act as a resource and technical subject matter expert on complex medical affairs challenges with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Quality, R&D)
Other incidental duties (member of compassionate case committee, etc.)
Education and Experience:
M.D. & Interventional Cardiologist experience required
Master's Degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
Demonstrated track record in people management preferred
Experience working in a pharmaceutical or medical device industry preferred
Proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Proven successful project management leadership skills
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
Expert understanding of business strategy, competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and clinical data while looking beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems
In-depth understanding of cardiovascular diseases and therapies
Practical knowledge of clinical and biostatics
Demonstrated ability to direct teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of medical affairs to the business
Serves as core partner to senior leaders in Business Units, Functional Groups, and Regions
Strict attention to detail
Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
Interacts with senior management, and others concerning matters of significance to the company
