Edwards Lifesciences Senior Legal Analyst in Milan, Italy

Provides essential, highly specialized client and attorney support regarding all aspects of legal filings and administration.

Key Responsibilities: • Provide timely and high-quality legal services and analysis in the area of contractual arrangements with healthcare organizations or healthcare professionals in various European jurisdictions and lead various contracts negotiation to execution • Revise and finalize contract drafts (e.g., company templates and 3rd party proposals), develop company´s standard contractual terms and conditions and ensure compliance with local law requirements • Provide interpretation of contractual rights and obligations internally, ensure that due diligence is practiced in complying with stated terms and conditions • Coordinate and interact with outside counsels for various legal issues and litigation matters • Develop and conduct training on contractual terms and condition to internal customers in partnerships with attorneys • Other incidental duties

Education and Experience: Juris Doctor or equivalent 5 years years experience of related experience Required Experience working with contracts gained in an international company or major law firm Required Experience in USPTO-EFS, and eCounsel, iManage, IPDAS, corporate reporting software and docketing software Preferred

Additional Skills: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including collaborative and relationship management skills • Ability to read, write and speak English including legal terminology required; Knowledge of other language (e.g., Italian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese) preferred • Excellent independent problem-solving, critical thinking, and investigative skills • Proven expertise in MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) required • Substantial knowledge and understanding of Edwards’ policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to legal • Substantial knowledge and understanding of legal contract concepts, efficient administration and automation of contract processes • Substantial knowledge of laws, rules, forms and procedures, that may include SEC and NYSE rules and regulations, International Patent System, the International Bureau of WIPO (IB), CTM, and individual foreign country offices, as well as and foreign filing best practices for patents and trademarks • Substantial knowledge of own area within the organization while contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion • Strict attention to detail • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels • Ability to represent leadership on sections of projects within a specific area interfacing with project managers and Legal team including regular contact with company executives, clients in all business units and work with attorneys across the Legal Department, including legal analysts, and support staff • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams and key contact representing the department on projects • Ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations • Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
