The Enterprise Data Office (EDO) is committed to enabling business outcomes with consistent enterprise standards with master data management, data quality metrics, metadata management and visualization. The Tableau for self-service visualization and analytics initiative is to implement Tableau in support of the EDO vision. This role requires strong technical, business and analytical skills in tableau report design, development, testing, administration, monitoring and dashboarding. In this role you will work in close collaboration with Enterprise & Business stewards and SMEs, Data Analyst, and Business System Analysts to assist, define, develop and ensure report development and visualization is in adherence with established data management principles and architecture.
The purpose of the Sr. Tableau Developer is to contribute to and lead Tableau Report development efforts, ensuring that report developments are executed in a way that is consistent with industry/company design, architecture, and quality standards as well as best practices.
Design, develop and test Tableau dashboards and data visualizations.
Develop or modify data models, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
Leverage established guidelines and custom designs to create formulas and calculations to meet the needs of the business.
Standardize reporting that helps generate efficiencies, optimization and end user standards.
Integrate dashboards and reports from a variety of sources, assuring that they adhere to data quality, usability and business rule standards.
Work closely with analysts and data engineers to identify opportunities and assess improvements of reporting/visualization delivery and support.
Drive workshops or training sessions with the business user community to further enhance their knowledge on Tableau Reporting and Visualization.
Collaborate with various data providers to resolve dashboard, reporting and data related issues.
Ensure integrity and security of data assets.
Ensure appropriate documentation for all development and modification activities.
Responsible for adherence to SDLC policies and standards for report development and technical management of Tableau Servers and Admin console.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems & Mathematics or a related discipline.
6+ years’ experience in Business Intelligence software development and maintenance, with at least 4 years of Tableau experience.
2+ years of relevant Tableau server administration experience in an enterprise environment,including experience with installation, configuration and support of Tableau server and associated Tableau products.
Expert knowledge of Tableau development, practices, techniques, and standards.
Technical experience and expertise: Tableau/BI tool (expert), Data Mart (intermediate), Data warehouse (intermediate) and ETL/ELT tools & processes (intermediate).
Experience working in more than one Tableau/Self Service BI end-to-end implementation project.
Experience with software development lifecycle tools (Bitbucket, JIRA etc.).
Familiar with Agile framework and DevOps.
Familiarity with application-specific processes related to data management, SQL, SAAS, etc.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), problem-solving abilities, and strength in understanding and analyzing requirements to deliver solutions within the Tableau platform.
Experience with Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) & Collibra
Knowledge of data modeling
Experience in the Medical Device industry
Knowledge of big data technologies like AWS data lake, Athena, Redshift
Excellent documentation and interpersonal relationship skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.
