Edwards Lifesciences Sr Manager, Program Management (Construction) in Irvine, California

Job Profile:

Be responsible for the management of the global GSC Facilities construction processes at Edwards Lifesciences locations. Understands the fundamentals of all areas of Construction and Project Management including contracting, design & construction.

Key Responsibilities:

•Establish and Implement Global Facilities Design and Construction Guidelines for all GSC Plants

•Create a framework for consistent Construction Project Delivery

•Manage the Construction build process for new office, lab, clean rooms and existing office space in the different GSC Plants across the world, collaborate with and guide internal customers on appropriate design and Construction choices. Create project budgets and options depending the constructions plan

•Ensure Asist in developing the facilities master plan on all GSC plants with the Key Stake Holders

•Analyze potential development sites as needed and evaluate associated development/renovation schemes.

•Set up and manage project from conceptual design through project execution, including but not limited to governmental entitlements, zoning, design, permitting, pre-construction and construction activities and Validation. Establish KPIs and assess compliance to standards on a project by project basis. Write justifications for business cases.

•Proactively seek and delivers improved processes and tools which enhance productivity, lower costs, improve efficiency and better support the customer. Work effectively on multiple projects in parallel.

•Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of twelve years of experience managing large to midsize projects and/or programs of increasing complexity.

  • Up to 75% travel required.

Additional Skills:

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Managing construction projects in med device preferred

  • Proven successful project management skills

  • Strong negotiation skills in securing specific vendors and key contractual terms & conditions which meet Edwards’ business requirements.

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Strong experience and expertise with commercial Construction transactions.

  • Recognized as an expert within sub-function(s) and/or area(s) and broader organization with broad-based expertise across area and related functions

  • Able to analyze data and effectively communicate interpretations and recommendations.

  • Expert understanding of related aspects of corporate development processes and/or systems

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Solid knowledge of all aspects of Corporate Construction including service and supply procurement, Construction and business operations.

  • Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
