Edwards Lifesciences Senior Product Manager, Upstream Critical Care in Irvine, California

The Edwards Lifesciences Senior Product Manager will be responsible for developing and launching innovative, new to Edwards, and new to world products for its minimally invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring platforms. The products will focus on artificial intelligence algorithms, trained through machine learning, that adapt to a patient’s hemodynamic profile and predict clinical events before they happen. These products will be developed and launched as disposable sensors as well as hardware and software capital products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to create, communicate and execute global market strategies and actionable market plans to advance the business and generate value for patients, clinicians, and hospitals

  • Plan marketing projects and activities with accountability for successful completion within scope of project deliverables including supporting technical team meetings and driving product design requirements using Voice of Customer (VOC) inputs

  • Partner closely with key thought leaders to anticipate the future market environment, changes in economic climate, the onset of new competitors including substitutes and adjacent players and to predict/drive future needs for current and future customers

  • Identify and evaluate marketing process improvements and/or course correction/course alignment opportunities

  • Develop and execute marketing plans and go-to-market strategies for products that have no analogs, no competition and no historical precedence in the market. This is truly innovative stuff

  • Rapidly gain the trust of your colleagues and cross-functional counterparts to lead project teams on next generation products. We work with the best and brightest in our fields and they challenge us every step of the way, from the patient target population to the business opportunity to Voice of Customer (VOC) input to clinical publication strategy to the Congress cadence to colors of the brochure

  • Operate independently and with minimal guidance from your manager

  • Work intensely with our team of innovators, early adopters, and thought leaders in the marketplace. Our partners are luminaries in their fields and very high touch. You have to be simultaneously intelligent, articulate, confident, charming, and humble. You must have the street credibility to pass their sniff tests

  • Present to senior leaders including business unit executives, corporate executives, and The Board in a cool and confident manner

  • Demonstrate aptitude and genuine curiosity to learn, grow, and develop within a rapidly evolving organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience and Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as biomedical engineering OR an MBA or Master's degree with 6 years relevant medical device marketing experience.

  • Upstream marketing experience within medical device or healthcare industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven success leading and managing internal project teams and project managing individual elements of the project (requirements, timelines, presentations to leadership, etc)

  • Proven success launching products globally and supporting local sales and marketing teams from initial launch to commercial release

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Need to interface with internal colleagues as well as external KOLs and support teams around the world

  • Be able to build market models and launch trackers to determine the success or failure of a product

  • Ability to quickly assess and understand market share, pricing, ASPs, competitive dynamics, etc. with imperfect information

  • Relevant clinical and physiological knowledge or demonstrated aptitude and curiosity to learn a new subject or field

  • Ability to manage competing priorities

  • Ability to cultivate long term, productive relationships with regional Edwards partners, customers, and professional and academic societies
