Edwards Lifesciences Senior Product Manager, Strategic Marketing - Advanced Technology in Irvine, California
The Senior Product Manager, Strategic Marketing, AT is responsible for developing and implementing new product planning and upstream marketing strategies for Edwards Advanced Technology product portfolio.
This position will advance the Edwards Advanced Technology product portfolio by managing upstream portfolio planning activities, analyzing market opportunities in untapped or unexplored markets, and providing marketing guidance to the new product development teams through voice-of-customer (VOC) input, quantitative and qualitative market research, and design control activities.
This role works closely with physician and non-physician stakeholders, and a broad cross-functional team that includes R&D, clinical affairs, regulatory affairs, operations, manufacturing, quality and worldwide geographic marketing functions.
Become a product, disease & market expert. Partner closely with key structural heart thought leaders to anticipate the future market environment, changes in economic climate, the onset of new competitors, including substitutes and adjacent players, and to predict/drive future needs for customers
Support portfolio planning activities including gathering and analysis of competitive product analysis and generating global market research needs including advanced market research (i.e. conjoint studies) and voice-of-customer input to define product requirements
Plan marketing projects and activities with accountability for successful completion within scope of project deliverables including supporting technical team meetings and driving product design requirements using voice of customer inputs
Collaborate with management to create, communicate and execute global market strategies and actionable market plans to advance the business and generate value
Participate in technical team meetings as a key member and drive product design requirements using voice of customer inputs including customer engagement and user experience and well executed market research plans
Work with team members to define product testing and input into clinical strategy to support and build new product and clinical claims to create a differentiated value proposition
Partner with cross functional team to create market model with input assumptions and competitive product analysis required to inform portfolio prioritization
Establish effective partnerships and collaborate with R&D, clinical, regulatory, quality, strategy and other key functions
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team
- Bachelor's degree with minimum of 8 years marketing experience or Master's degree in a related field with 6 years work experience with solid business acumen and knowledge of medical device environment is required.
MBA is preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience with new product development in the medical device industry or relevant Lifesciences preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects, initiatives and/or activities simultaneously and work collaboratively with global partners and cross functional partners to drive results required.
Strong analytical skills and data interpretation. Comfortable making data supported recommendations and building a strong business case/justification to gain organizational support required
Track record with a variety of voice of the customer collection methodologies and skilled at VOC interpretation in order to define market requirements
Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills required
Familiarity with medical device product development process (e.g. design control system) highly preferred
Experience with product development efforts involving close collaboration with clinical advisors or advisory board preferred
Ability to effectively influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
Meticulous attention to detail
