Edwards Lifesciences Senior Product Manager I, US Therapy Awareness - Transcatheter Heart Valves in Irvine, California

Senior Product Manager I, US Therapy Awareness is a great opportunity to be involved in supporting Edwards Lifesciences non-implanting physician marketing efforts for its groundbreaking transcatheter heart valve products in the United States. This critical role works with a cross-functional team to develop and implement programs focused on expanding awareness and driving preference for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR or TAVI) therapy, which is a less invasive option to treat patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis. This key member of our team will be the subject matter expert on referral pathways and will need to be proficient in research, analytics, and programs driving adoption of TAVR to general cardiologists. This person will be is responsible for driving referring physician outreach, train and support therapy development specialists in the field, and use analytics and data to create behavioral change with general cardiologist, while partnering with brand, digital, patient and product marketing teams to develop educational materials, resources, and tools in support of existing and/or new programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Project management of referring physician programs that drive education and accelerate adoption for transcatheter aortic valve replacement

  • Develop and drive flawless execution of new programs that will grow the transcatheter heart valves business and open patient access to TAVR

  • Ability to inspire and effectively communicate referring physician programs to doctors, heart teams and internal stakeholders

  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team of partners including: product marketing, digital, brand, sales, compliance, corporate marketing, public relations, legal, regulatory cross product business unit to develop and execute effective therapy development programs (print, digital, conferences, and other).

  • Comfort in evaluating programs, tracking performance and driving business decisions based on data, analytics and other research

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high standards, quick deadlines and multiple competing prioritizes

  • Work closely with branding/product managers to drive the development of referring physician marketing collateral across print, online and apps.

  • Serve as marketing liaison with creative agencies to establish priorities, manage timelines and budgets for multiple projects, ensuring appropriate and cost-effective use of resources.

  • Facilitate and manage physician visits at Edwards US locations.

  • Required to work with legal and regulatory and corporate brand teams to make sure all materials are routed through the correct systems according to standard operating procedures.

  • Partner and support the US sales, training and product marketing teams to provide relevant information as needed/requested.

  • Oversee research and other special projects (as assigned)

  • Domestic travel up to 30%


Required Education & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years OR Master's degree with 6 years of industry experience working in/or with clients in the pharma, medical devices, or healthcare

  • Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry is required

  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed

  • Strong project management, agency/vendor management, organization and tactical execution skills

  • Demonstrated track record of successful therapy awareness programs, with strong therapy acumen and an understanding of physician needs and mindset

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a cross-functional environment are essential

  • Ability to provide thoughtful, strategic recommendations while simultaneously managing tactical execution and working collaboratively within a small team environment

  • Ability to serve as subject matter expert and interface with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Comfortable driving a process with multiple stakeholders and leading meetings

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think and work both strategically and tactically are required

  • Strong matrix and influencing skills to manage complex, multiple issues and projects

  • Ability to work cross-functionally, independently and motivated to perform at a high-level without constant supervision

  • Strong collaborator as well as a demonstrated ability to influence, motivate and lead others is required

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities to meet deadlines
