Edwards Lifesciences Senior Manager Manufacturing – Irvine Implant Network in Irvine, California

This is an exciting opportunity to manage including 4 Supervisors and their directs to ensure smooth and continuous operations in manufacturing to meet demand and continuously improve the manufacturing process.

Essential job functions:

  • Manage and/or lead a core team within assigned function.

  • Lead Core Team to achieve build plans (ensuring PvsA, Yields, Safety, Compliance, Headcount Requirements, etc.).

  • Partner with BEX team to continuously improve manufacturing process (hours and yields).

  • Implement short term and long-term improvement plans for assigned function in partnership with cross-functional team members including Quality, EH&S and Process improvements (e.g., Engineering, QA, Finance, Planning).

  • Forecast Budgeting spend and hours.

  • Planning for new product launches (head count, training, etc.)

  • Develop team members to increase business acumen and functional skills including driving culture changes and providing knowledge transfer team members. Coach and develop Supervisors.

  • Partner with various teams (Corp Engineering, sister plants) to align on long term process improvements.

  • Plan and direct assigned operational and project activities with the accountability for successful completion of assigned deliverables.

  • Manage Lean project activities (e.g., BEx initiatives, Engineering, GTO and plant projects).

  • Support transfers to network plants.

  • Provide technical expertise on process for compliance, quality and EH&S audits and ensure accountability of supervisors to plan (Builds – LIFR, Yields, Productivity, Safety, Compliance, Culture).

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

  • Demonstrated track record in people management.

  • Experience working in a regulated industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree is preferred.

  • Medical device or working in a regulated industry preferred.

  • Proven lean and continuous improvement skills.

  • Proven successful project management skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving, root cause analysis, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.

  • Knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to assigned functions operations.

  • Demonstrated skill set to manage assigned team and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations.

  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment.

  • Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.
