Edwards Lifesciences Senior Engineer, Environment Health & Safety (Ergonomics) in Irvine, California
Edwards Lifesciences is searching for a Senior EH&S Engineer to design and lead EH&S strategies and process improvement related to manufacturing ergonomics. The Senior Engineer will lead ergonomics programs within a manufacturing environment focusing on risk assessment development, execution and implementation of prevention strategies.
Conduct, collaborate and assist teams to perform ergonomic risk assessments, force testing and other tools.
Provide expertise and evaluation regarding the design of products, automation, processes and equipment within the workplace with a focus on ergonomics/human factors.
Monitor ergonomic injury trends, assist in the investigation of ergonomic injuries and develop recommendations for process improvements.
Develop and revise EHS training and written programs to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and standards; may deliver training as necessary.
Ensure consistent deployment of administrative control programs (stretching, rotation, early intervention) within the manufacturing organization.
Collaborate closely with occupational health team to address ergonomic risk factors.
Prepare management summaries or reports in response to internal and external requests.
Conduct periodic internal inspections and ergonomic audits at the site to ensure continuous compliance with applicable regulations; and provide guidance to appropriate team members
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, Occupational Biomechanics, Ergonomics or related Scientific field with minimum of 4 years ergonomics program implementation in a manufacturing environment.
Master’s degree is preferred.
Strong documentation, communication and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills.
Substantial understanding and knowledge of EPA, OSHA, local and federal regulations.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Substantial understanding of processes and equipment used in assigned work.
Good leadership skills and ability to influence change.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
Ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Proven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite.
