Edwards Lifesciences Principal R&D Sensor Engineer –Pilot Technologies in Irvine, California
Edwards Lifesciences Advanced Technology is looking for an experienced Principal Engineer, Electrical Engineering to help establish pilot capabilities in new sensor technologies. This is a diverse role with great growth potential bringing new innovations to complex challenges. Develop a new generation of sensors and related hardware and packaging for clinical use
Work closely with external partners and vendors to bring integrated solutions to new applications
Architectural stage work, to design and development and scale-up
Assist Test Development Team with electrical support as needed from test fixture concept to debug
Establish new Pilot Engineering group with the long-term goal of filling out our capabilities
A minimum Education requirement of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8 years of work experience / Master’s degree preferred.
5+ years of hands-on experience and proven track record in electrical and system hardware engineering
Strong electrical engineering background on analog, mixed signal, digital signal processing
Experience with RF design and integration
Experience in design and implementation of complex test apparatus / hands on debug experience to component level
Experience with electronics test equipment, scopes, logic analyzers
Proficiency in SPICE, Altium, Matlab/Python, Labview and other simulation tools
Knowledge of ASIC design through production, and various integrated sensors (MEMS, biosensors) is desired
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
