Edwards Lifesciences Manager, Strategy & Business Development - Surgical Structural Heart in Irvine, California

This important, high visibility Manager, Strategy and Business Development position will actively influence the Strategy and Business Development functions for the Surgical Structural Heart (SSH) business. We are looking for the right, motivated candidate to take on responsibilities including:

  • Play an active lead role in the annual strategic planning process through close collaboration with senior SURG management as well as functional and regional leaders.

  • Assess potential licensing & acquisition targets, develop market and financial models, support analyses with research, and present recommendations to senior management.

  • Stay abreast of important clinical trends, literature and data in structural heart disease treatment to inform our near- and longer-term strategy for optimal success.

  • Develop materials for conveying our business unit strategy and results to Edwards executive leadership, the Board of Directors, the external investment community, and key stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a scientific, technical or quantitative field with 10 years of work experience.

  • Experience preferred in the medical device industry.

  • At least 3 years of direct experience in strategy, management consulting, business development, or marketing.

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into a high-level strategic message, and to interpret internal/external business factors into recommendations and solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of business, clinical, marketing, and technical professionals to help navigate through complex situations.

  • Strong skills in PowerPoint, Excel, clinical and financial comprehension, strategic frameworks, and live presentations, with high attention to detail and output.

  • Ability to listen to stakeholders, discover unmet needs, develop strong rapport with audience, and be customer-focused.

  • International and domestic travel up to 25%, including attendance at major medical congresses

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA is preferred

  • Experience working with key opinion leaders/physicians is preferred.
