Edwards Lifesciences Manager, Internal HR Communications in Irvine, California

Edwards Lifesciences is seeking a Manager, Internal HR Communications, to help share the many ways the company values our employees. In this role, you will directly support the CHRO with personal communications, external communications on behalf of the CHRO, and produce content for Senior Leadership Team meetings. HR Communications spans the breadth of HR programs and initiatives including talent management, learning and development, talent acquisition, compensation, and diversity and inclusion. Reporting to the Lead, HR Communications, this role will support all HR communications and related events. The ideal candidate will have strong communications skills, executive presence, high emotional intelligence, a broad understanding of HR programs, and a strong desire to have a long-term corporate impact within a rapidly growing organization.


  • Establish a close working relationship with the CHRO and develop a deep understanding her voice to effectively incorporate it into corporate messaging.

  • Build productive, trusting relationships with the HR Leadership Team, Edwards’ Senior Leadership Team, and Edwards’ Corporate Communications team to provide thoughtful, strategic communications counsel and support to HR leaders.

  • Ensure close partnership and alignment with the HR Centers of Expertise and partner with Centers of Expertise to support and enhance their communication efforts.

  • Support the delivery of all change management and communications activities, including communication plans, communications content, and adoption efforts for large-scale HR projects and initiatives, helping inform the direction of the Project Management Resource team’s strategy and activities.

  • Lead the development and execution of internal or external communications activities including high-quality written, web, video and audio collateral (e.g., presentations, messaging, talking points, Q&A, podcasts, video scripts).

  • Plan and execute highly visible HR employee events (e.g., Global HR Summit, Extended HR Leadership Team Meeting, HRLT Strategy Sessions) and assist with highly visible Edwards events (e.g., Senior Leadership Team meetings, external board meetings, all employee meetings).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related area

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic, internal corporate communications

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization.

  • Capable storyteller and compelling communicator

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including, negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Experience as part of a thriving virtual team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR Corporate communications

  • Consulting experience with a large firm

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Expert understanding of related aspects of communications processes

  • Expert understanding of the business, policies and current practice in communications
