Edwards Lifesciences Manager, Business Solutions in Irvine, California

Edwards is embarking on a multi-year digital transformation journey. This position will partner with functional leaders and teams in R&D, Global Supply Chain, IT, QA and Regulatory Affairs in executing critical transformation projects in the NPD/NPI domain. Scope includes business process engineering, technology implementation (e.g. PLM) and organizational change management. This position will initially focus on designing CAD/Part/BOM Management and related processes, integration between CAD/PLM and supporting Edwards in transitioning to become a Model based Enterprise through definition and adoption of Model Based Design methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the reengineering and optimization of complex business processes across multiple systems and business functions. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in business processes in the area of responsibility.

  • Evaluate and validate complex functional business requirements against business needs. Translate the needs of business and articulate the functional design to meet requirements

  • Lead the identification of root causes and provide guidance for resolutions for testing and validation of processes and systems including perform complex root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex business processes including testing and researching data integrity/accuracy

  • Serve as liaison between multi-functional team members and external stakeholders in the area of responsibility. Lead efforts to reengineer and optimize complex business processes and systems

  • Provide design and architecture guidance to project teams to execute tactical projects / initiatives

  • Provide leadership and guidance to business solutions administrators on best practices

  • Provide platform guidance to team members on solutions

  • Identify and recommend innovations that significantly enhance efficiency and effectiveness of business processes

  • Incidental: Ensure compliance with established patterns and practices on projects incl. technical oversight of development efforts. Add and update content in the design and metadata repository / knowledge base

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of product development/introduction or digital transformation experience required

  • Experience in defining Model Based Design methodologies and driving adoption

  • Experience in digital transformation in the new product development / new product introduction space (e.g. PLM, CAD/CAE, MES)

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience driving digital transformation in the Medical Device or other regulated industries

Additional Skills:

  • Recognized as an expert in own area within the organization

  • Expert knowledge in discipline (e.g. MBD, PLM)

  • Expert knowledge of platform ecosystem and integration points

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
