Edwards Lifesciences Manager, Business Solutions (CAD) -Advanced Technologies in Irvine, California

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic development and implementation of Part Centric Definition in PLM tools and 3D CAD data quality processes, procedures and standards across Edwards including the investigation (e.g., auditing, problem definition, root cause, trending, etc. ) of CAD data quality issues for product and tooling; analyze results, make recommendations, and develop reports and executive presentations

• Develop the CAD Data Quality strategy, as well as the Part-Centric Definition strategy, with executive leaders and manage the execution of processes/methods for drawings and models based on standards and engineering principles

• Establish CAD Data Quality and Part-Centric Definition work instructions (e.g., SOPs) and develop training materials and for drawing and CAD standards

• Lead the development of process solutions by leading stakeholder meetings and workshops to gather and collaborate on improvements and suggestions for process and quality improvements to CAD data and Part-Centric data in PLM.

• Develop and integrate metrics that clearly demonstrate value of CAD data quality and part-centric data structures to the business

• Train-the-trainer, coach, and guide: engineers, designers, drafters and auditors to new established standards and processes

• Establish and develop (hire/contract) 3D CAD auditing staff, manage day-to-day activities and goals, give instruction to auditors and provide feedback

• Other Incidental duties

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in in technical field, 10 years years experience of related experience are required

Technical experience and business processes improvement required

Related certification preferred (e.g, Black Belt, PLM Certified, Configuration Management, Quality Engineering (CQE, CQA), 3D CAD certifications)

Additional Required Skills:

• Experience performing these responsibilities in a regulated environment

• Proven ability to present in industry forums like PLM Conferences, INCOSE, etc., on the areas of 3D CAD Quality & Part-Centric Data.

• Previous experience working with PLM tools (E.g. PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter UA, or Aras)

• Experience in Master Data Management

• Proven successful project management and leadership skills

• Proven expertise in process developing/improving in 3D CAD Data Quality

• Proven expertise in creating, analyzing, trending, and presenting process metrics

• Proven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite. Experience in remote collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams)

• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

• Ability to translate technical information from technical level to manager & directors, including escalation reports of CAD data quality that could impact the safety & effectiveness of a medical device

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills

• Recognized as an expert in own area with specialized depth and breadth of expertise

• Expert knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, and concepts relevant quality processes and tools (e.g., Creo, Solidworks)

• Expert understanding of related aspects of processes and/or systems with CAD and PLM

• Recognized as an expert in own area with specialized depth and breadth of expertise

• Expert knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, and concepts relevant quality processes and tools (e.g., Creo, Solidworks)

• Expert understanding of related aspects of processes and/or systems with CAD and PLM

• Experience in:

• auditing or checking 3D CAD information in Creo, Solidworks, etc. and part centric data in PLM

• using the following to improve 3D CAD Quality & part-centric data : industry best practices, creating templates, creating reusable library content, and emerging 3D CAD standards in industry

• managing 3D CAD and part-centric data in PLM (3D CAD tools like Creo, Solidworks, etc. and in PLM tools like PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter Unified Architecture, Aras, etc.)

• business process improvement methodologies like Process Excellence or LEAN

• problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills

• Strong leadership skills, ability to influence change, and align diverse groups of stakeholders like engineers, designers, checkers, and auditors.

• Knowledge of CAD quality 'check' and/or 'compare' tools (enough knowledge to be able to collaborate with people who create these automation tools)

• Familiar with PLM Admin responsibilities (enough to be able to collaborate with people who design PLM functionality)
