Edwards Lifesciences Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor II – Irvine Implant Network in Irvine, California

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Supervisor to be responsible for the day-to-day execution of planned and unplanned facilities & maintenance work. Supervise the work of facilities and maintenance employees in the maintenance of all production and facilities equipment to include, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and related systems. Ensure staff are trained and qualified, maintain time keeping and time away from work.

Essential job functions:

  • Supervise technologists to ensure failures in equipment are appropriately repaired and ensure corrective actions are taken, including conducting and writing impact assessment reports of incidents, exception work orders (EWOs), Equipment Non-conformance Reports (ENCRs), and Out of Tolerance (OOTs).

  • Supervise the review and ensure team members perform check list actions for all equipment in compliance with established work instructions and adherence with SOPs, including recording traceable information on device history records and enters information into appropriate system.

  • Transfer equipment knowledge to team members to improve troubleshooting skills, as well as anticipate issues that may occur, and propose solutions and lead the implementation of planned and unplanned downtime and keep production on schedule.

  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimal operations.

  • Lead improvement projects, partner with stakeholders on investigations.

  • Oversee the maintenance activities and delivery on team performance metrics.Identify issues, review capacity requirements and maintenance procedures for accuracy and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Ensure employees are trained, certified, and adhere to EH&S policies and procedures including OHSA regulations.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of supervisory experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing facilities experience.

  • Must be available for weekend calls for off shift support required as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical device industry preferred.

  • Full knowledge of Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices supporting a pharmaceutical or medical device environment.

  • Full understanding of maintenance procedures and related equipment.

  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite with working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably JDE Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills; possessing strong collaboration skills in partnering with cross functional stakeholders in order to achieve objectives.

  • Full understanding of maintenance procedures and related equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma.

  • Ability to supervise/lead employees in a maintenance environment.

  • Ability to analyze and identify potential downtime improvements.

  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment.

  • Ability to respond to off hours breakdowns, provide leadership to assemble a team and provide trouble shooting guidance.

  • Ability to lead teams, provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations.

  • Ability to interface and communicate with outside vendors for work to be performed.

  • Participate on cross-functional teams Engineering, management, Regulatory, Quality, HR,

  • Planning for the development of cohesive production operations.
