As an IT Solutions (Labeling) Architect at Edwards, you play a critical role in our ability to deliver devices that maximize our patient’s recovery and quality of life. You bring expertise and solutions that allows us to implement global systems, automate supply chain process, and ensure our sales teams and customers have real-time access to our product and heart valve information.
In this role, you will drive engineering and architectural best practices in the following ways:
Responsible for planning, designing, development and implementation of Labeling and RFID enterprise solutions.
Architect Labeling and RFID applications through its lifecycle, including: requirements, design, development, test, validate, deploy, enhance, upgrade and retire.
Work with global, cross-functional project teams to translate business requirements into system qualities that lead to repeatable and executable design strategies and patterns.
Provides expert consultation to inform strategic technology and system decisions as well as tactical decisions related to RFID, labeling, and barcode technology projects.
Help cultivate an IT ecosystem that is scalable, adaptable to the business, and aligned with the strategic goals and objectives of the organization.
Identify and define the opportunities for integration, selecting the tools, specifying the shared data & code resources, defining the interfaces and data-flows, and monitoring the success of the integration.
Lead the evaluation of new technologies targeted for possible integration into the existing IT environment.
Train more junior team members to lend expertise toward driving solutions.
Drive the documentation of technical requirements, specifications, and test cases in collaboration with business partners .
Partner with the application support team to create and maintain service catalogs and troubleshooting guides to ensure high quality L1 and L2 support.
Partner with IT Engineering and Cybersecurity teams to ensure that Labeling and RFID solutions are supported by a high performing and secured infrastructure.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Natural Sciences or Mathematics.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in supporting enterprise applications within IT.
A minimum of 7 years of end-to-end experience with labeling systems (Label Content to Label Design to Print and Apply) in highly regulated environments (e.g. medical device, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
Experience writing technical specifications for custom development and systems integration requirements.
2+ years’ in the Medical Device Industry, with specific experience with medical labeling systems is highly desired.
A strong desire to work in a mission-driven organization dedicated to always putting our patients first.
2 or more years of demonstrably solid performance in an architect role working with cross-functional teams (within IT and/or within the business) on enterprise-level or complex/novel system implementations.
Experience with SDL Content Management System is preferred.
Experience with Loftware Label Design System is preferred.
Experience with RFID technologies.
One or more technical professional certifications (e.g. TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL, OCP, etc.).
Knowledge of common architectural methodologies, frameworks, and patterns.
Expert in architectural modeling and documentation (e.g. UML, BPM).
Broad and deep technical knowledge – expertise in multiple aspects including hardware, software, applications, and systems engineering and QA/testing.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Knowledge of financial modeling and planning as it pertains to IT investments.
Program and project management planning and organizational skills.
Understanding of, and significant work experience with, various SDLC methodologies including Agile /Scrum.
Demonstrated experience with requirements gathering and analysis, and technical design and documentation.
