Edwards Lifesciences Director, Organizational Effectiveness & Innovation - Digital Transformation in Irvine, California

Edwards is looking for a Director of Organizational Effectiveness to join our Organizational Effectiveness & Innovation team supporting the Edward Business System (EBS) Digital Transformational Program. The EBS program is an enterprise-wide initiative with a mission to fundamentally transform how work gets done through establishing a product digital thread across our core business value chain.

Our ideal candidate possesses a blend of regulated industry (ideally Pharma/Medical Device) and management consulting background in Organizational and Operating Model strategy and design. A demonstrated track record of partnering with leaders driving large scale transformations in Product Development, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations to realize the goals/benefits through a focus on people and the impact of change. This role will partner with business stakeholders and HR leaders to address the people factors affecting an organizations’ ability to deliver on digital transformation strategy and initiatives. Our projects are high-profile and fast paced to support our innovative teams and patient focused culture.

Our vision for this role:

  • Consult on enterprise wide digital transformations, high impact business initiatives, with a focus on the people impact to ensure work is optimized for innovation

  • Translate business needs into enabling Org Designs, Human Capital Strategies and Operating Models

  • Manage the people side transformation strategy, plan, and workstreams

  • Lead and contribute to digital transformation capability development efforts

  • Partner with the business to build strategic workforce plans helping to enable Edwards for rapid growth

  • Partner on strategic change management efforts – be the “champion of change”

  • Lead operating model and organizational improvement and/or design initiatives

  • Drive organizational assessments and development at the company, functional, and team level

  • Facilitate the creation of the talent strategies to enable business objectives over the 7-year strategy horizon

  • Lead Strategic Workforce Planning efforts for critical functions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult to Sr. Leadership on people impact of strategic or tactical decisions

  • Assess and deliver strategic workforce plans as a result of EBS digital transformation

  • Advocate “change management” knowledge and capabilities into the organization

  • Consult to the EBS Program to identify and manage team alignment and effectiveness projects

  • Conduct organizational assessments and needs assessments, develop recommendations, and implement solutions that drive improved employee productivity

  • Lead EBS Program operating model and organizational design efforts in partnership with workstream leads and business stakeholders

  • Travel expectation – 25% (international); travel will not be required in the near future

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Engineering or technical degree preferred

  • 14+ years of experience in the following areas: Organizational Design, Human Capital Strategy development, Operating Model improvement and/or design and Strategic Workforce Planning

  • 7+ years of Digital Transformation and management consulting experience, including large scale enterprise wide transformation leveraging technology (i.e. PLM, ERP or etc.)

  • Extensive program / project management skills

  • Strong business acumen – understanding of the business as the foundation for driving productivity through people

  • Strong experience using and developing Organizational Effectives tools and methodologies, including change management approaches, team alignment processes, organizational assessment methodologies, communications strategies and tactics, and team and personal work profile assessments

  • Experience managing complex organizations with multiple stakeholders, as well as approaches to demonstrate ROI and value propositions

  • Willing and able to travel – 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or MBA; 12+ years of experience in the following areas: Organizational Design, Talent and Org Strategy development, Operating Model improvement and/or design and Strategic Workforce Planning is required with a Master’s degree

  • PLM implementation experience

  • Merger and acquisitions experience

  • Product commercialization experience

  • Process improvement methodology experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
