Edwards Lifesciences Director, Organizational Change Management - Digital Transformation in Irvine, California
Edwards is looking for a Director of Organizational Change Management to join our Organizational Effectiveness team supporting the Edward Business System (EBS) Digital Transformational Program. The EBS program is an enterprise-wide initiative with a mission to fundamentally transform how work gets done through establishing a product digital thread across our core business value chain.
Our ideal candidate possesses a blend of regulated industry (ideally Pharma/Medical Device) and management consulting background in Organizational Change Management (OCM) with a demonstrated track record of being able to partner with leaders driving large scale transformations in Product Development, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations to realize the goals/benefits through a focus on people and the impact of change. This role will lead the OCM workstream for the EBS program and will functionally report into the Human Resource Organizational Effectiveness group.
This program is a high-profile, high-impact strategic initiative for Edwards that is directly linked to our ability to scale effectively how we develop, make, deliver and service our life-saving products to our patients.
Our Vision for this role:
Work with Program Leadership and key stakeholder groups to understand the program structure, phased roadmap and expected outcomes and change impact. Develop and integrate the overarching OCM plan (by phase) into the overall Program Plan. Gain program leadership and executive sponsors buy-in to phased OCM plan.
OCM leader should work with Program Leaders to develop & deliver on the following:
Clear business case for change with promotional campaign to build excitement and “pull” around the program at right pace in line with program cadence
Organization Risk Assessment strategy and execution plan tied to program key milestone and decision points throughout the program
“Living and breathing” comprehensive stakeholder plan that informs and is integrated into internal team implementation and roll-out plans
Executive Stakeholder engagement and Program strategic communication
Organizational assessments at each phase of the project to inform change readiness preparation
Knowledge transfer and training strategy for both internal (sustaining team) and external stakeholder groups
Periodic benefit realization and adoption measurement goals and attainment (people focused)
Serve as a coach to the Project Manager (PM) to enhance workstream PM’s change management capabilities
Partner with Strategic communications resources to build out plan, messages, and investment needs
Partner with Knowledge Transfer and Training resources to prepare workforce and investment needs
Consult to Sr. Leadership on org change impact of strategic or tactical decisions
Lead OCM for enterprise Digital Transformation Program
Partner to Program Leadership on developing an OCM Strategy and Plan
Ensure alignment across the workstreams on OCM Strategy
Manage the execution of the OCM Plan
Partner with workstreams to understand workstream level change impacts to ensure alignment to the OCM Strategy
Collaborate with communication team to develop strategic messages and ensure consistent cascade across workstreams
Partner with training team to develop a training strategy
Owns the executive stakeholder engagement plan and partners with Program leadership to manage stakeholder plan
Travel expectation – 25% (international); travel will not be required in the near future
Bachelor’s degree required, engineering or technical degree preferred
14+ years of experience leading Org Change Management in large scale, enterprise initiatives
7+ years of Digital Transformation and management consulting experience, including large scale enterprise wide transformation leveraging technology (i.e. PLM, ERP or etc.)
Strong knowledge of the Product Development and Commercialization experience
Strong experience using and developing OCM tools and methodologies
Extensive program / project management skills
Experience managing complex organizations with multiple stakeholders, as well as approaches to demonstrate ROI and value propositions
Willing and able to travel up to 25%
MS or MBA; 12+ years of experience leading Org Change Management in large scale, enterprise initiatives is required with a Master’s degree
Value stream process improvement methodology experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong facilitation and presentation skills
Strong business acumen required – understanding of the business as the foundation for driving productivity through people
