Edwards Lifesciences Director, Marketing THV in Irvine, California

Opportunity Snapshot:

The Director of Marketing, THV Product Portfolio for the International Market is responsible for leading a dynamic team of 5 in the development and execution of the commercial marketing strategy for the Edwards balloon expandable platform in markets outside the United States. This role will work in collaboration with regional marketing teams and other relevant stakeholders on the solicitation and synthesis of input from customers and other stakeholders to forge the strategic downstream plan is key to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct strategic marketing activities including prioritizing and selecting appropriate projects with overall responsibility for meeting business objectives. Lead in identifying risk, developing complex mitigation strategies and best practices while assessing alternative solutions and resolving issues, etc. in collaboration with cross functional and/or matrix teams

  • Direct the development and execution of the global strategic marketing plan through deep knowledge of

  • multichannel marketing,

  • customer journey mapping

  • analytical methods to establish and evaluate programs

  • masterful storytelling of clinical, procedure, product and competitive information

  • Effectively collaborate and consult with regional marketing, upstream marketing, training, clinical, branding, supply chain and other key functions in the development and execution of a strategic marketing plan.

  • Direct and communicate highly complex strategies which include but not limited to multiple complex concurrent major product, indication or campaign launches, programs, and initiatives Develop key relationships through exceptional executive level communication

  • critical executive leaders including; Sales, Regional, and Cross Functional VPs

  • Key Opinion Leaders (physicians, other HCPs and other healthcare stakeholders)

  • Direct activities and departmental responsibility for developing systems, planning, resource allocation, budgeting, managing expense priorities,

  • Direct line management responsibilities including a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies and responsibility for the desired culture of the department.

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 14 years of experience in marketing, sales within medical device or healthcare industry required OR Master's degree and 12 years of experience in marketing, sales within medical device or healthcare industry required OR PhD and 10 years of experience in marketing, sales within related industry.

  • Solid business acumen and knowledge of medical device environment required.

  • Domestic and international travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interventional cardiology experience highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated track record in people management required

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Possesses good organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks through effective prioritization in order to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities.

  • Consistently pushes self and others to achieve challenging goals and objectives with a track record of executional successes based on integrity. Can be counted on to achieve goals and is both top & bottom-line oriented.

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement commercial strategies, convert these into tactical marketing plans and deliver results with a specific emphasis on new product launches.

  • Ability to articulate the vision of the business unit and create the vision of the function

  • Proven ability to lead and manage within a multicultural environment

  • Demonstrated performance track record over multiple business cycles within relevant industry/function including talent management responsibilities

  • Ability to understand, interpret and manage clinical data from both presentations and publications.

  • Ability to effectively influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders through utilization of organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to persuade others of the course of action.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including sales & marketing leadership.

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with customers, and multi-functional partners.

  • Strong team leader and team player speaks up when important information or questions must be raised and takes action when issues must be addressed.

  • Creative out of the box thinker who is intellectually curious.
