The Manager, Global Finance Project Management Office is responsible for managing programs and projects of medium to large size complexity. Qualified candidates will have the ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, while creating an environment that motivates, inspires, and respects others. This position requires high organization and planning skills; along with an eye for detail. The Manager must possess strong communication skills and have the ability to work both independently and within a team. This position will report into the Senior Director Global Finance, Business Process Innovation and Technology Strategy

Responsibilities:

Create and maintain the Global Finance PMO agile process.

  • Focus on large program management, leading cross functional project teams from Idea to Closure

  • Oversee teams’ project managers work of project delivery throughout the full project lifecycle (i.e. Idea through Closure).

  • Accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget and scope, escalating, as needed, in a pro-active manner when any targets are at risk

  • Manage and oversee a team of project managers and mentor other team members (e.g., Finance associates playing role of project manager for projects) within portfolio.

  • Build a cohesive, high-performing project team to achieve results

  • Develop a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies of the department

  • Manage Overall Portfolio for Global Finance, working across Edwards for all projects impacting Global Finance.

  • Oversee the sharing and prioritization of resources among projects.

  • Financial management including budgets, forecasts, actuals, and variances.

  • Collaborate with business process leads on new ideas, changes of priorities and key dependencies including updating the Global Finance roadmap

  • Proactive risk and issue management to ensure the expected project outcomes are achieved on time and within budget & scope. 5% Communicate project statuses and updates to project team and business owners throughout the duration of the project; making certain all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of risks, issues, and activities related to the project.

  • Partner with senior Finance and IT leaders to ensure that delivery expectations are developed, managed and met.

  • Partner with Indirect Sourcing as single point of contact for vendor contacts, which includes integration of project tasks and reviewing deliverables. Other duties as assigned by Management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required

  • 10 years (or 8 years with a Master's) of IT project and program management experience, within a mid to large size, global organization required.

  • Demonstrated track record in people management required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within a regulated environment (medical device or life sciences)

Additional Talents and General Expectations:

  • Experience working in an agile environment and working with product owners, leveraging scrum master methodology and Kanban techniques. Ability to coach and provide feedback to project team on agile techniques.

  • Experience with enterprise system implementation and process optimization

  • Experience with Vendor management

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Expert understanding of project management processes while addressing issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines

  • Expert knowledge of SaaS and vendor hosted systems and implementations.

  • Ability to tailor information to the appropriate audience – from detail to broad summaries and technical to business focused.

  • Strong leadership skills and experience in facilitating change, including collaboration with management and executive stakeholders.

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization.

  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment and bringing together project team for a one team mentality
