Edwards Lifesciences Associate Manager, HR Project Management in Irvine, California

The Edward Associate Manager, HR Project Management holds an important role in helping shape the future of HR. He/she will serve as a consultant/advisor to various HR teams on a range of projects to create advanced HR solutions to serve our global Edwards employees. Key Responsibilities:

  • Determines and discerns detailed requirements on larger scale HR projects to establish the project deliverables, and manages changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs to keep the project management plan updated and reflective of authorized project changes.

  • Facilitates the creation and approval of business cases, and utilizes historical data and expert judgment in order to understand project limitations.

  • Establishes and maintains team members and project stakeholder relationships, expectations, and communications

  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify variances, perform required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders

  • Executes and leads the execution of tasks as defined in the project management plan in order to achieve the project goals, and actively manages project risk

  • Manages HR project closure activities, including gathering lessons learned

  • Serves as an HR project management subject matter expert, including guiding and mentoring other project managers; demonstrates expertise in a business process, professional discipline, market, or product

  • Actively leads one or more HR Project Management Office (PMO) continuous improvement activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Management with 8 years of hands-on experience in managing HR related projects of increasing complexity is required.

  • Experience in scrum, kanban and other Agile methodologies; an agile mindset

  • Grow peer, cross functional and cross business relationships globally to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness

  • Expert understanding of HR services while addressing issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines

  • Expert understanding of related aspects of HR processes and/or systems

  • Proven successful project management leadership skills

  • Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite and related systems

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of engineering to the business

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and agile work environment

  • Frequently interacts with functional peer group managers, occasionally involving matters between functional areas and other company areas locally and globally; often leads a cooperative effort among members of a project team

  • Resolve operational and scheduling issues
